The Pastor; Reflections on turning 59

The Pastor; Reflections on turning 59

Today the pastor reflects back on the last 20 years of doing research for Bible prophecy which consisted of reading the Bible and Bible resources, watching video's, doing a mail out newsletter, researching news articles mostly 6 days a week…and what has became of all that, is it worth it, he still wonders…since 2000 his family church started the Mission Church to help the poor, homeless, and anyone hungry or in need of what they could lay their hands on.

In 2001 his work load got even bigger as he took on talk radio to WARN the world in hope some might hear and understand that time was short, it is time to get ready for Yeshua's return. Of course the whole of the ministry was and is to get people saved and "WARN THE WORLD AS IT HAPPENS".

All this was done with no complaints and much self sacrifice, and much, much family sacrifice.

People wow, over and over people say things like : "Oh what a blessed thing you are doing" "Oh I know God is going to bless you soon"  "I am expecting some money and I will help when it comes" really if all these people who say what a blessed thing that he was doing would just contribute a few dollars a month then it would not be such a struggle….

Like now at the Mission Church more and more people are streaming in, but there is less and less to give. Yes the Father has kept it going since 2000 but it is so hard to pull out of the driveway with no money to buy food for the people and some of the time even have no money for the return trip as the Mission Church is 60 miles away…

Like now no money for food, gas etc and it takes 2 vehicles to reach the MC on Friday's because they have their weekly church Service after they help the people on Friday so the pastor has to get family over to the church each week and now today his wife's truck just flat will not start….

Once a  year his family gathers on the 4th of July to celebrate as most American's do for Independence but with  small twist you see the 4th of July is the pastor's 59th birthday. It generally is a day of family and fun, thankfulness for everything that HIS FATHER and this country provides…this year it will not happen unless a miracle happens as there is no money for it or rather really right now anything else….

Worn out and extremely tired he reflects what should he do? He wonders shortly then realizes he has 4 radio programs to get ready for the next day, still needs to read a book for one of them, so he reflects no time for self pity as it really boils down to one thing.

And that it really is all done for the kingdom, he needs no earthly rewards, because once a really bad guy headed for death on earth then the lake of fire after judgment, he met Yeshua and all that was changed, he was brought back and restored and only happy to serve a wonderful FATHER and SON…yes of course he is a living sacrifice…so a prayer then back to work…today will take care of today and tomorrow is for HIS Father as it all belongs to HIM, including his life…you see He gives up all for the kingdom having placed his life on the alter of Yahweh…as for turning 59, he has received the greatest gift of all, Salvation and a chance to serve!

Of course he does not forget he was also given a wife, (coming up on 28th wedding anniversary) 4 children and 15 grandchildren (he has a couple of adopted daughters J) and of course if he counted all those at the mission church who claim him as dad and his wife as mom he is indeed blessed beyond millions…..

Lift us in prayer help if you can,

Romans 12:1

1I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. 2And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. 3For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.

In His Perfect Peace,

Pastor Dan Catlin
