Government IRS and the Church, woman's shelter, Turned down $40,000, memorial weekend and a mission update

Luke 4:

14And Yeshua returned in the power of the Spirit into Galilee: and there went out a fame of him through all the region round about. 15And he taught in their synagogues, being glorified of all. 16And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up: and, as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and stood up for to read. 17And there was delivered unto him the book of the prophet Esaias. And when he had opened the book, he found the place where it was written, 18The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, 19To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.

Greetings,

Today my sister reported back to us about going to a lumber yard to get a donation for the Woman’s Shelter, she decided that it would be for the fence and the central heat and air. They really are considering doing it maybe at their next meeting which is not until July 18th……they said they needed a few things from us like our 501 3c corporation number…well now I am not downing anyone who has chosen to get a cooperation we chose not to as the Church first is under Messiah and a corporation is under the state…..number 2 the IRS does not require a church to have one to get a deduction as this

From the IRS tax Guide for churches and Religious Organizations

Recognition of Tax-Exempt Status

Automatic Exemption for Churches

Churches that meet the requirements of IRC section

501(c)(3) are automatically considered tax exempt and

are not required to apply for and obtain recognition of

tax-exempt status from the IRS.

Although there is no requirement to do so, many

churches seek recognition of tax-exempt status from the

IRS because such recognition assures church leaders,

members, and contributors that the church is recognized

as exempt and qualifies for related tax benefits.

For example, contributors to a church that has been

recognized as tax exempt would know that their contributions

generally are tax-deductible.

Which means with a incorporated church you can call in on the number given and the IRS can say sure they are registered and you will get a tax deduction, meaning you are assured of getting an earthly reward.

With an unincorporated  church you can get that deduction and we do send thank you notes to those who mail in donations and the reply we send to online donations you can use also, these you can all use to get those deductions…people have and do sine we started with no problem.

But it make it very hard for us to get donations from large corporations, so we are in prayer again for the woman’s shelter and Messiah’s Branch, this is a major reason why we are NOT funded by many, many people they want the 501 3 c thing and I will not place the church under the state. Yes some times 501 3c churches or organizations bless us by getting donations for us then blessing us with the said donations, right now it would help f we had one that would receive donations for us but………

We really need your prayers folks, because the woman’s shelter needs around $27,000 total to make it able to open, things like bunk beds, fencing, updated heating and cooling etc……if you want to see the needs go and look at the link at www.wichitahomeless.com for the woman’s shelter http://www.wichitahomeless.com/shelter.html .

Pointed out again to me yesterday by someone trying to get us some help is that we turned down $40,000, you see before we got this place we could have been given a $40, 000 donation to use freely or they would use that money pay off this building and bless the ministry with it. When the building was first bout 8 years ago it was appraised at $68,000……it is still in good shape but it is NOT money to us…..it is the Father’s to use as HE see’s fit for the people.

So folks we really need people out there pray to help us pray this in…..we were called to do what we do and even though there are so many tears, sacrifices, heart ache, we are faithful to our calling……..

Please remember your loved ones that have went on before us that remain alive, we plan on making our annual all day 4 city trip to the gave yards we every year….

Beyond the Women’s shelter we really need prayers for the Wichita Mission Church, we are in what ministries call a summer slump in donations, right now I have about $116, this week I need to pray in about $500,

so please lift us in prayer and help if you can

In His Perfect Peace,

Pastor Dan Catlin
